Theodore Roosevelt Book Prize Winner - 2022
The Theodore Roosevelt Association is proud to announce this year’s winner of the Theodore Roosevelt Association Book Prize: Dr. Benjamin D. Wetzel author of Theodore Roosevelt: Preaching from the Bully Pulpit (Oxford University Press, 2021). The prize recognizes the year's most significant published book focused primarily or substantially on Theodore Roosevelt.
Dr. Wetzel is an Assistant Professor of History at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. He earned his PhD from the University of Notre Dame in 2016. Dr. Wetzel studies the intersection of American religious, political, and intellectual history in the period from 1860 to 1920.
The book provides an overdue contemporary study on TR's faith and is an important contribution to Theodore Roosevelt scholarship and historiography.
The Theodore Roosevelt Association, headquartered in Oyster Bay, New York, is a national nonprofit and nonpartisan organization chartered by an act of Congress in 1920 to perpetuate the memory and ideals of America's twenty-sixth President.
The prize will be presented at the annual meeting of the Theodore Roosevelt Association in Buffalo, New York in October 2022.
