Theodore Roosevelt Association Partnerships

These are TR-related sites and collections that the Theodore Roosevelt Association (previously the Roosevelt Memorial Association) has played a role in preserving and currently partners with.

Sites

• Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, Roosevelt’s family home in Oyster Bay, NY from 1887 until
  the death of his widow, Edith, in 1948
• Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site at 28 East 20th Street in Manhattan, the reconstructed brownstone house where Roosevelt was born in 1858
  
• Theodore Roosevelt Island, former Mason’s Island, now a living memorial to TR of forest and wetlands on the Potomac River established by Congress May 1932, managed by the National Park Service
  
• Pine Knot, the Roosevelt’s presidential retreat in Albemarle County, VA, which Edith Roosevelt purchased in 1905

Collections

• Houghton Library/Harvard - Theodore Roosevelt Collection, a major resource for the study of the life and times of TR in photos and writings held at Harvard’s library in Cambridge, MA
• Library of Congress - Theodore Roosevelt:  His Life and Times on Film, a catalogue of motion pictures and sound recordings of TR from 1898 to 1919 given to LOC in 1962 from the TRA. The LOC also holds the papers of Theodore Roosevelt from 1858-1919.
